Third Arm

What if
You had a third arm
It's purple and it grows out of
the center of your chest

You grew it
From eating a piece of
Radioactive candy
when you were little

Lots of people have them
but third, purple arms are disgusting
you never see anyone like you on TV
in magazines or movies or in books

It's hard to find clothes that fit
No one designs a shirt that
looks good with three arms

People say
“Well, it's YOUR fault after all
You shouldn't have eaten that candy”
And they are technically right
So you blame yourself and hate yourself

“It's your CHOICE to keep it.
You could just cut it off.”
There are doctors who would do it
for a hundred thousand dollars

Or you can cut it off yourself
But you are only allowed to make one
tiny cut
a day
with a rusty butter knife
